Where did the idea of the Holy Grail come from, and is there anything which can be said about it with a reasonable degree of certainty? This talk will offer a whistlestop tour through religion, myths and culture over the course of eight centuries. It will take us from the earliest accounts of the Grail to the way in which the concept has been reinvented by the likes of Monty Python, Indiana Jones and Dan Brown.
