The villages of Barford St John and St Michael lie in the valley of the River Swere, between Bloxham and Deddington. Barford St John is the small village on the north bank of the River Swere and is about 5 miles south of Banbury and has 22 houses and one church. Barford St Michael lies on the opposite bank. There are 250 houses, one church, one pub – The George Inn, and a village hall.
